I believe that music becomes more intimate if it is based on life's experiences and these two albums always make me think about what might have been. Originally, “Just Like That”, another track from the 1982 recording sessions, was planned to be released on this disc. It is bad enough, that the 3 'Hits' Albums, have UK Sales added in, from other UK Queen Compilations. Interestingly, Elizabeth is a rare fan who is not overly thrilled with either The Album or Voulez-Vous.

This version was issued in the US in 2010, although it does not come in a super jewel case, but instead a regular jewel case.Erasure had released a 4 track ABBA cover EP, Abba-esque, in summer 1992 which topped charts around the world showing there was still a strong interest in ABBA's music. Instead, the three songs that had been removed from the domestic version of Gold: Greatest Hits —" Super Trouper", " I Have a Dream" and " Thank You for the Music"—were included. It was changed to “I Am the City” at the last minute due to ABBA’s Björn Ulveaus and Benny Andersson changing their minds about including it. In August, 2019, Gold: Greatest Hits became the longest-running top 100 album of all time, spending 900 weeks on the UK Albums Chart.

Tretow producer: Benny Andersson ( ABBA) and Björn Ulvaeus alto saxophone and tenor saxophone: Lars O. This is a brilliant compilation of wonderful songs, most of them are album cuts or songs which didn't make the original albums they were meant for. The 1992 and 1999 editions released in Australia and New Zealand (and some other territories in that area) had a modified track listing (see below) to include three local hits, replacing three other songs on the international edition. Many songs from this album have found fame in the 'Mamma Mia' films though the singing in those films will never match that of the ABBA ladies.I would recommend it as another good choice of Abba songs, I bought this CD as members of my family had recently watched Mama Mia the movie and one of my daughters liked a few songs that were not on Abba gold V(1)such as "I do, I do " and " Last Summer " and they were on Abba Gold Vol(2). Just Like That” would only be released as a small snippet on “ ABBA Undeleted”, the last track on the Thank You for the Music box set. In 2002, Gold: Greatest Hits was released in mainland Europe (though not in the UK) with a bonus second disc. My 1999 CD was described as near 'mint' and it certainly looked good, although some careful cleaning was necessary to eliminate minor faults and improve clarity.

ABBA Gold songs includes Waterloo, SOS, Mamma Mia, Fernando, Dancing Queen, Money Money Money, Knowing Me, Knowing You. I know Abba made some happy, joyful music (Dancing Queen, Waterloo etc) but also I think some of it is actually very sad like the divorced themed Knowing Me Knowing You, The Winner Takes It All, Our Last Summer, Slipping Through My Fingers, etc.The 3 'Hits' Albums each got 560,000 Sales added in, from 'The Platinum Collection', the Triple Queen CD, that was Released in 2000. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. ABBA Gold' and 'More ABBA Gold' never got 30,500 Sales, (each), added in from 'Forever Gold', the 1996 CD, which has both 'Gold's in it. In 2010, the DVD was remastered with six bonus clips, including five "split-screen" versions of the clips to show which improvements were made by remastering the old videos.

It has never been deleted and re-issued, just new editions and pressings made available for the same chart run.The track listing was similar to the original album, with some added content: a 25-minute documentary produced in 1999, and the 1992 video of "Dancing Queen". If ABBA's "artsiness" was a much later development, then how do you explain 1977's "Eagle," which sounds like a perfect fusion of Giorgio Moroder, Pink Floyd and Station to Station-era Bowie?
