Abby Jimenez my queen, thank you for writing such real+raw characters and a story that showcases the most vulnerable and intimate moments of two people coming together and falling madly for each other at time they both least expect it. Abby has the way of writing that evokes so much empathy her characters - you become so invested in their lives and feel all their emotions. I feel like I say this every time Abby releases a new book, but this honestly feels like her best yet. In this case Emma and Justin were both so beautifully human and I foresee them sticking with me for a long time. Emma’s grief and trauma and tragedy were so all-encompassing that the only person she could give almost all of herself to was her best friend, and in spite of the frustration and grief that sometimes caused her as well, Maddy never gave an inch.

While this wasn't my favorite Jiminez book, I found it to be a compulsive page-turner and immediately connected to the characters. If she hadn't extracted her head from delulu-land, I would've given this one star so brace yourself while reading this. I wanted to love "Just for the summer" as much as I love her previous works but it didn't hit the mark for me. Both are dealt shitty cards in life either in the past or present and we follow their journey of healing and acceptance.A sharp and scintillating summer novel that will make readers laugh out loud and cry happy tears from the New York Times bestselling author of Yours Truly. Just One Summer is a 2012 Filipino romance- drama film directed by Mac Alejandre, starring Julie Anne San Jose and Elmo Magalona. A fresh start in a picture-perfect English town brings the hope of new friends, new adventures and even new romance in this heart-warming novel from readers’ top pick Fay Keenan.

This story follows Justin and Emma and their journey to a somewhat "fake" dating situation after meeting online and realizing they have a similar issue. She’s so great at giving us complex heroines who we love to root for, and their delicious partners we can’t help but fall in love with. As all fans of Abby know, we can count on her books for A+ banter and comedic relief and JFTS absolutely delivers in this regard.

This pulled at my heart strings in all the right ways with the most wholesome dynamic between Emma and Justin woven into themes of family wounds and healing past traumas. Another massive highlight of this book was seeing the former Part of Your World/Yours Truly crew, it’s this interconnected stand alone series that’s made me fall head over heels with Abby’s writing and seeing these characters makes my heart 🥹 burst! I think I was weepy for the whole second half of the book for both pure love struck moments in the romance and moments my heart broke for both Emma and Justin for the cards they’ve been dealt.

When a woman slides into his DMs with the same problem, they come up with a plan: They'll date each other and break up.This is a story about two people falling in love who are perfect for one another but the timing just isn’t right (don’t worry, there is a very sweet HEA). Let Fay Keenan transport you to the perfect British summertime, with beautiful countryside, an unforgettable romance, and just the right dose of escapism. Seems like the curse was actually working in her favor because she never had to worry about "the one that got away". This releases in April but was absolutely one I was delighted to end my year with, as it was hands down a top 5 read of the year for me.

Fans of Abby will devour this one and readers who may be new to her writing will no doubt want to go back and connect all the dots from her previous work. Justin made us all hold his proverbial beer when he stepped up as the newest book boyfriend in town. For some reason, the writing was giving me the cringiest vibes since the beginning and I couldn't look past that. Everything was so insta-lovy, mixed with miscommunication and a very insufferable FMC and it ruined the entire story for me.

Not all dialogue needs tags, but I find it odd that emotionally charged exchanges were devoid of them. This, like all of Abby’s books, is hilarious and filled with comedic relief, but it’s also evocative and wrought with emotions and, in some ways, heavier than some of her previous stories.
