While it's not the firewater that Watershed and Farmer's are, each FEW gin we tried had an overwhelming corn smell and taste—it makes sense, given that it's made with a white whiskey base. Sold in a distinctive rectangular green bottle, this has been one of our favorite gins for years, and blind tasting bore out our hometown bias. In the Estate of the Urn Witch (the garden part, not inside the Ceramic Manor), there is a set of fire pits. While there aren’t any enemies, there are many Shiny Things to find both here and in the tutorial area, the Grove of Spirits. Light up these up using your fire ability and drop into the newly revealed hole to get to the shrine.

Three botanicals burst through: First juniper berries followed by spicy and citrusy notes from coriander seeds, finishing with a cool softness of fennel seeds. Their Knickerbocker gin, while not a favorite of our panel when tasted straight, was at the very top of the list when mixed – so much so that we decided it was worth including at the very top. This has resulted in some incredible innovations in gin, a spirit that was mostly confined to the staid world of Bombay and Beefeater before the little guys started pushing things along. There’s an anchor in the southeast part of the map that you can hookshot to, leading you to the Makeshift Soul Key.After weeks of work, we’ve emerged from the cocktail laboratory with some answers—and some surprises. In the Overgrown Ruins, head south from the Village Settlement until you see a break in the wall railing that allows you to jump down. Created on Washington Island, Wisconsin and made using juniper berries that grow wild with coriander and fennel sourced from within the state. This path leads you to a slippery challenge that requires you to quickly hookshot anchors while activating platforms. One of our top gins comes from a new place that only has a single still in a garage and another comes from a distillery that cranks out thousands of bottles.

However, there’s a cut in the hedges that allows you to travel through the bushes to the bricked off part of the map. The first magic shrine you can access is in the Estate of the Urn Witch (again, in the garden area).

Once you get the fire ability from The Urn Witch’s Ceramic Manor, you can access the northern part of The Lost Cemetery. The Hall of Doors and Grove of Spirits have five different Shiny things: the Ancient Door Scale Model, Modern Door Scale Model, Rusty Belltower Key, Surveillance Device, and Makeshift Soul Key. Pinckney Bend Gin just secured distribution in Chicago and will be available here starting in January; until then, it’s available at the distillery in New Haven, MO.
